Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 9 p.m., Co-Producer and Vocalist, Harvardwood Summer Jazz Medley, Twins Jazz, 1344 U Street, NW. Twins Jazz, one of the hottest venues for live music in Washington, DC, has opened its stage for Harvardwood to fete its alumni jazz, R&B, and funk artists. Rising star R&B artist Johanna, a D.C. area native, headlines the celebration, which features rock/funk/blues band Ten Feet Tall, led by Josh Himmelsbach, and vocalists Elliott Small, Kakki Reynolds Lewis, and Sue Chung. Including me, there were 6 Harvard Alumni performers and a total of 14 performers including the two bands. Harvardwood was started in 1999 in Los Angeles near Hollywood. The members are alumni in all parts of the entertainment industry -- producers, musicians, directors, filmakers, etc. The Washington, DC chapter was started in early 2006.
